You should talk to walt if you ever catch him online. I believe he uses a mac.
I have only used a mac once and really liked it, it is differant, but more secure. i think you would like a mac once you got use to it. |

save yourself the troubles of monthly patching, daily anti-virus updates, and getting pwned by spam-bot-virus-programs --- get a mac
there are very few major programs that don't exist for the mac (MS Office, all Adobe stuff, etc. all work fine on the Mac) |

Even better, use a paper and a pencil.
And a gameboy to play games :P Or go kick against a ball (yeah those round things you've seen on internet games... they DO exist in real life!) in the yard. And to enter the yard, you don't have to open windows. Just the back-door will do... |

If you get an Intel based Mac, you can run Parallels and run any Windows program natively anyways. Go Mac if you can afford it. |

Avoid a 15 or 17 inch iMac though, they inevitably overheat due to design flaws. |

"inevitably overheat due to design flaws" ---- um, no
my company has nearly 12k macs worldwide; maybe 2-3k of them are laptops (all of which are 15-17in) and only a few cases of overheating |
