People are always wanting banners so I decided to make a few generic banners, other people can also post there banners here as well.

Actually, although they're basically the same concept. I quite like those banners. Needless to say Ray has come on a long way over a short space of time with his creations.

I challenge anyone to create a banner for me that is more outrageous and mind-numbingly ludicrous than the one I already have. If I somehow grow to like your creation better than my existing banner, then I will use it from now on.
Be warned, however, that I am STRONGLY biased toward my current banner and it is highly unlikely that I will ever use a new one. In my eyes, my current banner simply cannot be outdone. I just want to pose the challenge to anyone that dares to step up. Current Banner:

Additional Backstory: Two years ago I was looking for a banner to use in VOW. I had initially been using the original pic as my banner, but I wanted something better. I approached a friend of mine with the following project. "I'm going to send you a pic. I want you to make a picture that is tastelessly dripping with American patriotism, using such national symbols as the American flag, the US Constitution, the Capitol Building, and the Iwo Jima memorial, and anything else you can think of, but you have to use the jackass in this pic here as the centerpiece." The very next day, I received the result above. My first thought was that the picture's quality was truly astounding, as it had elevated itself way beyond my highest expectations. My second thought was, "Damn, that's a big eagle." My friend is truly an artist in every way, with a highly-creative mind and even a slight touch of madness. It will take a kindred spirit to best him. The challenge is on. |

For me your current banner is too busy, it has too much going on, so I made one that I thought reminded me of you "Thes savior of the world (VOW).
In the banner you will notice that america is being attacked and you are there to save the day. i paticularly like the sign:) I know it is not what you want exactly, but it is my gift to you if you so choose to accept it.

Well done, Ray, however you are correct in that I am looking for something different. My current banner, while extremely busy, manages to capture the look and feel of an epic movie poster since it is so over-the-top and shamelessly loaded with symbolism.
Thank you for the banner. I will add your work to my small, but growing collection of CS-related material (which I may one day release upon the world), but I will choose to keep my current banner... for now. Compare the two movie posters below. The first one is a minimalist poster, while the second one is very busy. Minimalist:

While both posters are fine examples of advertising art, only one of them can truly be described as "epic", and as we all know... the word "epic" can be used as a synonym for the word "stupendous". |
