That is a good media checker even though it doesn't notice blocks that people have checked with the explore gang feature, it is efficent enough to find out where the more powerful gangs are advancing to, I will use this program to weaken my adverseries and eventually destroy them. |

Hmm, Vercetti. In my case it only uses the latest news.
Is there a way in which you can do all city media? eg: I tried to do war 300. And I notice about 30 blocks I took and about 20 of SF. But that's all. |

I find that filter the messages by doing a quick search of the media for messages containing the words "attacks" or "engages" works well. The resulting list maybe very long however.
Is there a way to non-exclusively search for two words at the same time, eg for messages containing either attacks OR engages? Thanks the work you have done making this mapper. |

The best thing do to is to scroll to the bottom of the City Media and click "Search" without anything in the search field. This will give you the full media. You can also save your Explore Gang or Show Gang results to be processed as well.
The mapper automatically filters out any event that doesn't have block coords. |

Using both the city media mapper and show gang browsers it brings up an error:

Nice update, puts people into perspective with me having to think :P I've kept trying the show gang feature and it still doesn't work. I use Firefox if that could be the cause. |

I am adding icons to the city media mapper! If you are in one of my games you may see it in action (if I haven't been wiped out!! heh). You will find a link on my player page.
I will manually add icons if you want to make one for yourself. It must be 16x16 and in png format. |

I didn't notice any differences in the new format except it doesn't show the "My Gang" listings and only the city media ones. |

You wouldn't have noticed any difference over the old one unless you were checking out a game that The Vercetti Gang was in -- in which case you would have seen a  instead of a gang id # in the blocks.
So. For demonstration purposes I have made some temporary icons for some users. They aren't pretty, but will do. :-) |

Got a few sugestions for you for icons - How about a lighting bolt for Legion of Zeus A set of fangs for Scarlet Vampires Both Big News & Brutal Truth seem to be playing alot as well - maybe they can suggest icons for themselves. |

Just as a matter of interest - does the icon relate to the gang name or to the account details - i.e if i play a game with a different name is it still going to show a blood drop even though its a different gang name?

homi - An icon can only be tied to a gang name. If someone decides to use your gang name then your 'blood droplet' icon will appear on the map.
So, you can have as many icons as you do different gang names. Very good suggestions for icons. Unfortunately I'm not a graphics artist! :-P If there is someone out there who is willing to spend their time creating icons for gangs I'm willing to add as many as they come up with. It would be nice to have a stock collection for someone to pick from, eh? |

Finally tried it...looks very nice. Certainly stopped me blundering in to creating a border I am not quite ready to have ;-) But I seem to be missing some blocks. From the Show Gang bit I have gaps in my territory that do not exist. Firefox, natch ;-)) |

Thats not correct, Homicidal - the Show Gang one should show the blocks shown on your Show Gang screen (ie all the blocks you have). Mine does not, there are gaps. But it does show more than the Media Mapper version.

And you're positive it's not PWA/MIL or other gang territory that might be in those gaps? you've done a block to block comparison? (just had to ask). |

The detailed ranking list for war 320 is not working correctly (not sure if it applies to other wars or not). Some but not all of the gangs are not updating correctly. For instance, Brutal Truth has gained its total strength/blocks/wealth today rather than just the difference from yesterday. Same with Hommicidal Lemmings and AngelDust. Myself, Crusty and BigNews have updated correctly. The same problem was there yesterday as well. |

But surely it will all become useless once the new code is added and you shouldn't waste your time on it. Instead revise for exams or work for more knowledge in your line of work, both things are beter than achieveing something that will become worthless in afew weeks. |
