so where should I start the rankings at?...

I haven't been around long so I won't vote on where to start the **0 rankings. I will say that if you're going to include **5 then you should start those with 585 because they haven't been special before and it hasn't been nearly as hard to win one.

I also vote for *00 wars counting double, which would make 600 even more competitive next month.

that sounds good **0 games double points. And to make it completely fair I will start the rankings with 585 and 590 since 570 and 580 are underway, thanks for the input and like I said this is only done as an unofficial reward or reason to stay active and hopefully get more new players involved...

2 pts- for a top three place in each of the three

Ex. gang ? would get 2 pts for each top 3 position in the three categories. so could possibly get 6 pts.

If you managed to get a win in all 3 catagories, you would get 10 points, not 6. :-)

Would you consider giving 3 points per catagory plus a "bonus" point for winning all three (making a total of 10) ?

The very first unofficial experienced player's **0 game was 280, btw :-)

Perhaps you could split the games into leagues or something... **5 being the lowest, **0 being middle, and *00 being top.

TVG I don't follow? I meant if you win 1st place in all 3 categories you get 10 pts. (most that you can get) That would keep the competition between allies when everyone is taken out. however if you don't get 1st place in all three but say 1st in strength, 2nd in richest and third in biggest then you get 2 pts for each top three spot giving you 6 points plus the 1 point 75 block bonus. And you said 280? but I don't know where the old rankings are? so I figured I would start another one just a little different. and I don't get what you mean by leagues but we could do only the *00 games as double and the rest **0 normal?...

Ahhh... I misunderstood the 2 point system. *slaps self*

What I meant by leagues was this (for example):

*5 games - Neophite League

*0 games - Veteran League

*00 games - Diehard League

It's only a suggestion :-) It's your baby!

And yes, 280 was the first Unofficial Experienced Players game. It was arranged by Hommicidal Lemmings (RD's brother) who decided that all *0 games hence forth were 'unofficial' experienced player games.

I realize that it would be quite a chore for anyone to recompile the stats! lol

Also, I put my vote in for not allowing aliases for *0 games. I think it will go a long way towards creating legends and forcing players to work together even if they have had 'differences' in the past.

I vote for not allowing points for aliases too. There is no reason to make it more complicated for the person willing to keep rankings.

very well no aliases, agreed...

I liked the idea of playing a specific **0 game as an All Alias game. It would be an interesting twist. It wouldn't be that much trouble to clarify the team names when it ended.

I'd also like to see the **0 games rank back to 280. There are a couple of legendary vets still playing that deserve to be recognized. I'd also like to see how I rank against the best, not just the best recently. I understand a lot of work would be involved, especially with the aliases that people used back then. I'm willing to do a share of it.

I thought of that ranking back to 280 but there were alot of aliases games and I will just use the names recorded and if anyone knows the aliases advise me...

Don't forget, folks, I had been keeping the rankings for a while, and they should still be out there somewhere for the older games...

Crusty, are you hinting that they might be hiding somewhere in the dark recesses of your hard drive?

thats right you kept them, well I don't want to step on your shoes Doug, Do you want to still continue it? I thought someone who was no longer around kept them, that is why I was going to start themn back up. I apologize but please keep doing the great job that you did before...

Aliases shouldn't be a major problem, you just add up the totals for those names separately and if someone credibly claims an alias then you can combine the totals.

The real potential problem would be 2 players in different wars using the same name. For example, it seems like every war has a new "The Warriors". I suppose at some point in the past several of those players might have been good enough to get a point. I doubt it, but it's possible.

In the past we'd have somebody post back to back with their alias and their regular name.

It could be on the recesses of my hard drive, but I swore I kept them up to date right here on the forum. I do not want to keep track of them now, though. Let me see if I can find them

It was on my hard drive, but I deleted them all because I thought they would always be here. :(

The forums were trashed on Dec 25, 2006. It was a dark day indeed. Nothing was left except for this crappy thread. No one has claimed responsibility. :-\
