Thread: A Suggestion To Help Those Not Getting Matches...
Post by: Bret Hart(73101)

I was just thinking of something when I was reading another thread. In this other thread there was someone complaining about not getting matches, because they're too high up. I was thinking how about a weekly or daily card. It would generate a card of who faces who... only active people would be put onto the card. There could also be some kind of ranks too, to help the card decide who would face who. It's just a thought.

I agree with this statement, a card would be a cool thing, and really make it feel even more like wrestling, since you don't get to pick the match ups. It would be nice to automatically have matches against similar level people that they couldn't decline because they only fight people that have little real chance. It would help some people that are starting to have hard times finding decent opponents, which happens once noobs playing after the first day, and ur way to high to fight the new noobs.

Random matches would be nice, true. But only if both contestants have enouch con and AP, and naturally that they are pretty much on the same level (it's not enough that e.g they are both LAW, cuz the variance is huge).

Also it would be nice if there were some bonuses for the winners, random bonuses perhaps. So people wouldn't decline so often... bonuses such as extra AP ("Your victory seems to give you new energy") or abilities ("Your skills in %skill% really improved in that match!").. what do you think?

Only reason people decline is because they are 1) cowards 2) stupid or 3) they are smart enough to understand that the one challenging them is either too weak or too strong

there are already bonuses: money and experience!

Quote Scorp: "thats what tourneys are there for, no?"

So you are willing to pay $500 aswell as the healing costs to perhaps fight one match (sometimes a complete mismatch). I doubt it!

Some people are VERY discriminative of the PWO/SSWO system. Some people will not fight low level SSWO (2200 exp) even if they are top end PWO (1900 exp). Also, some players are too scared to try and fight a neutral match type (this is usually trads or people with many subs). Or some are also scared of fighting people that are a few exp higher than them *cough Bloodrayne *cough*.

SSWO was introduced as something to give lower people a chance at tourneys because they were never getting a look in.

E-Feds don't really work, as either:
a) the owner is a complete VOW noob and therefore knows nothing about VOW
b) the cards are made once in a blue moon
c) E-Fed finishes after a month

Quote Cortez:

if you have no ap's and you would accept a match if you would have, why not leave the challenge standing? So you accept when you log back in?

Honestly, there are days that I log in on my wrestlers, send out 20 challenges, log off and come back next day. And most of those challenges have been fulfilled. I do not understand why people need to be online to fight matches, or would decline if they have no ap?

In addition to my SSWO wrestler not getting enough matches(which I am used too now) even my PWO(lower PWO) has trouble finding opponents.

Well, you know I'm always around to accept matches from Gwaihir, Flori, same goes for you, LK. :)

I know the feeling though. It's hard to find matches because I only fight SSWO's. I've found that fighting people higher or around your experience has always been the best way to go about it, especially when you're a non donator like me. It's paid off quite a bit, as I've climbed the ranks pretty quickly from that method.
