Forum: VOW Development & Design
Thread: Development Diary
Post by: PLIT Staff(264786)

Upcoming content additions

1) More move descriptions
2) Counter descriptions
3) Move dependancies
4) Return of voting contests

Hopefully, this thread will serve as a place to discuss the future updates to VOW. Ideas from the forums have been taken into consideration and thrown around by the moderators. When any additional upgrades are decided upon, they will be placed in here.

Players may discuss the changes listed above, however, inappropriate comments (off topic) will be removed.

Please note: VOW3 was removed due to its incompletion. We felt that having half finished updates on the site made it seem very unprofessional.

so no real change then except for dependecy, looking forward to that actually, voting? i havent voted in a very long time, because i cant get enough matchs to use the Ap I already have.
NPC's would be a great addition:)
But something is better than nothing.

yar(35506), you should also appreciate that we don't have the man power that other games have. We can't make big scale changes at the minute.

PLIT Staff,
"yar(35506), you should also appreciate that we don't have the man power that other games have. We can't make big scale changes at the minute"

At the minute? I have been here three years and there has never been a major update. unless you count adding a few other leagues or match types.

Is it my fault that there is'nt a bigger staff? I dont think so, I have been a regular donator for along time and would like to see some changes. I think it is long over due!

Addition of staff, tag teams, new matches, are all updates in the last few years.

The thing is that while they all add something to the game you could play the game without even using any of them if you wanted.

Staff has been around as long as VOW 2 has, Vow 1 had no staff.
I am just saying I would like to see some changes to add a little more spark to the game for new players and vets alike.

Not to mention the other games where nothing has happened at all over the last 3 years, except raising the number of gold you can carry (AF and SfP)... :D

I'm willing to even put time in developing new things, but they won't listen to that either :(

Staff was a major update for VOW2, wasn't there with the carry over from VOW1 to VOW2.

Me(316143) has hit the nail on the head. Why should there be massive updates if people will just sit there and criticise them? What do people want? Great updates which might take years, or half baked updates which that other games puts out?

I've said it before, people need to be a LOT more appreciative of what we have.

The Tech Tree, or "dependency", is a nice idea to try out. But if it doesn't go well with the community and hinders VOW growth in the future, will it just sit like a sore on the game for a year before it's changed?

As with everyone else in the VOW community, I am concerned about the future of VOW. Also, I understand that Peter hasn't had the staff as other games have to help in the development of his games. You have to remember, when referring to staff, Peter is talking about qualified programmers, not just ingame assistance like Head Moderators. Adding to the mix, he has to find the right person or people that he can trust and depend on. Being a dedicated player for years and possessing a passion for the games DOES NOT make one a trusted person, lol. A qualified programmer would probably look for some type of payment, which Peter may not be able to fund right now. So there's alot of things that players need to think about before applying harsh criticism...which I have been guilty of in the past myself.

Gankers suggestion : Place a 75 experience cap on LAW challenges would go along way in slowing down the LMS bashing : A LAW player can not challenge or accept challenges from anyone below 75 experience of their own xp.

"A qualified programmer would probably look for some type of payment, which Peter may not be able to fund right now"

He's got the nail on the head. Now for others to be appreciative of this fact.

I'm a solid programmer :)
And i'm willing to do it for the best of the game!

Allthough lifelong donation might help speed up the work then ;)
Just tell me what to code into SfP or AF and what coding to use and i'm your man! erm... i'm your fly :)

There's one volunteer, both dedicated and loyal. In a perfect world, Peter would at least take Suep's offer into consideration.

All hail the fly.

I presented him the offer in the past, but he allways says he wasn't planning to improve those 2 games...
Damned, i even will pay for the beer i drink while programming myself! :D

ok a small fix to SC by choosing english once and not having to choose it again would be nice.

Setting a fillter for exp might be good. setting it your self for your below exp and above exp. This way the person does not even turn up on the player list if your out of there bracket.

I like it better with no vow 3 half finished game in here now.

I would just like to say, even though VOW3 didn't pan out as planned, I for one do appreciate the effort made by Peter to add more content to VOW.

Peter, don't give up on us yet :)

I would like to see a faster and easier way to get matches. I remember a few years back there was a new ring design. Something like that would be good, maybe not so blue lol. If it could be kept in the normal VOW font. If people looking for matches could enter the ring area and others can see they are also looking for a match and challenge them and whatnot.
