Following on from the 'VOW is Dying' thread - and in the vain hope that Peter sees this + responds to it - what improvements/changes would people like to see made to VOW in order to stop the current rot that appears to have settled in?
In order of my own personal preference - here's my list ... 1) Visibility of the person/people in charge!! Accountability of the Mod Team to somebody!! There is no leadership right now - any criticism of the Mod Team (justified or unjustified) goes unanswered and the status quo remains. People complain about the mods TO the mods - is it any wonder nothing appears to happen about these complaints? The trust in the Mod Team by the general populus is low - this is, in the whole, unjustified in my opinion, but they APPEAR to go unchecked/uncontrolled right now. 2) VOW relies on new blood coming in, sticking around, developing and being promoted through the leagues. For this to happen, LAW needs to be changed. The vast majority of LAW is now either those bashing or those being bashed, with very few players actually willing to make or accept reasonable matches! New players need to understand the game dynamics (+ the rules) so either the basics have to be made clear to them when they sign up and before they start playing or the 'noob-bashing' rules have to be changed to offer them more protection from those cowards who are bashing them continuously + refusing to accept matches from people of equal stats/ability! How can we ever expect people to stick around if they are being exploited as soon as they create a new character? 3) Game developments - as has been said, these have been promised and undelivered. Small changes, such as Move Dependencies, are like trying to stop an arterial bleed with an elastoplast! It's fine saying, perhaps if people accept/welcome this small change, then maybe bigger developments will come along in the future ... perhaps, if, maybe ... heard it all before I'm afraid! Tags + Stables have gone unchanged for far too long (despite 'promises' to the contrary) - I'd like to see a MAJOR change in these rather than a minor change now + MAYBE more small changes 'in the future'. People seem to have changed the way they play (bashing like hell through LAW, stricter match restrictions beyond that etc) which has caused some of the major issues and the game itself hasn't changed to compensate/take account of that fact. Anybody else got any suggestions? |

I would like to see a VOW where there is replay value. A +1 legend bonus means little to nothing. Something that makes it a little different would help.
Maybe NPC wrestlers in each league to help those who are suffering with lack of matches could help. Different moves! More moves! A blinking use for stables and tag teams! They have ZERO USE right now. In game use for titles. The join tourney, win tourney, win title, hold until next tourney is stale as all get out. Maybe some sort of graphic put on the Stat page for the wrestler or something of that nature. Just a little spruce up for fun. |

DMD for your issue of new blood coming in and they are needing help.
What you could do is you your main char page is have objectives like, go to gym train, make your finisher, have a match, Go to R&R and heal. And when you complete each objective you gain 50 ap or some cash. That way people will do it. I cant see it hard to be put in. |

Clowny.. that idea sounds very similiar to another, better wrestling game's idea.. They offer money/points for completing tutorial items that they message you such as "go to the gym and buy a move"
etc etc. |

I was the 1st mod there till the game bored me to death lol VOW is the best wrestling game, but I am sure plit could learn from other games, look at what has made them successful and come up with similiar idea's. make a panel of players who Peter talks to either weekly or monthly about the state of the game, changes that are needed etc.. and actually do something. Empty promises wont cut it anymore at least with the vets, we have seen it all before, stables and tags, president of VOW, updates etc that never came to be. And look at the months of wasted time on VOW 3 that was just trash caned, the updates needed would have been so much simpler. My main pet peeve(although I am no one special either) is stables. People put in alot of there money that they could use to get retired or go in that direction, cause someone said they would be updated. And guess what nothing. people have alot of good idea's, if they were actually listened to and made the right changes, donations would increase, and new players would flock to the game in droves. In order to make money you have to spend money or in this case time. If time isn't available put some programmers on staff and let them make the changes.
I also think a CEO would be good for the game since peter is so busy. Find someone you can trust to run the game for you, a veteran would be best since they know the game already. I have said for along time the current mod system is broke and needs overhauled, I dont say this just as a player but as a retired moderator who really knows what has gone on. Moderators need someone to be accountable too. They use too, why not now? without checks and balances there will always be corruption. Intented or not. Why not have VOW helpers, you could get some vets to help new palyers and help train them, they could welcome them to the game etc... I would offer my services. The vets and Legends need to take a more active role in helping the game,and the new people who play the game. I hope your listening Peter, there a re alot of good idea's from alot of differant players. |

I like the "helper" idea. A year or so back there used to be an "Adopt a LAW" thread in the forum. At least that is something that we, the players, have some control over.
Vets can raise their LAWs to be big and strong, and then make them battle each other bloody. It can be like cockfighting without the cocks. |

Unless this idea (good as it is) is 'promoted' or advertised properly (officially?) how will it get off the ground?
Just like the rules + tips that get buried/lost in the Forum/Wiki, it won't have the major impact that is needed unless new players are made aware of this scheme from the start. |

I have been on VOW for over 3 years. Most know me, most despise me and some just never heard of me. I have been on that other wrestling game and to be honest, I prefer VOW because you can do more here now that they implied that you HAD to vote for them to do anything anymore. Me, I hate voting... so there.
But, what I would love to see on VOW is: 1) A Uncensored unmod chat available for use at anytime so we can have fun on the chat instead of it being a dead zone there for people as most who do talk get banned all the time. 2) Trainer FEES! No one has thought of this but I am noticing a problem with the gym as you increase in exp. Matches diminish as injuries pile up! Solution to this would be a price system for the gym. I would suggest LAWS pay a little more as they are all pretty much bashers anyway like 20 money per ap used, SPWA drops slightly to 15, PWO is like 10, SSWO is 5 per ap, and ultimately it will be only the cost of your ap for VWO, who get injured all the time. I have more ideas but just can't put them into words. So, I will probably be talking with someone about them and get it posted soon enough. Thank you all. |
