Thread: Donators + Legends - Mythbuster :)
Post by: Dyna Mike Duncan(127082)

After seeing a few posts in Chat recently questioning the advantages of being a donator and/or Legend, I thought I'd set a few of the myths being bandied about straight.

Firstly, the only DIRECT advantages of being a donator are:

1) You can create + run two additional characters. (But your 3 characters cannot fight each other in a one-on-one match, but can be in the same Rumble if created by another player. Your characters can't be in the same two man tag team either)
2) You gain 2ap every 10 minutes for each of your characters. (Non-donators get 1 ap every 10 minutes)
3) Donators do not have a cap on the amount of AP they can stockpile - non-donators are capped at 500ap.
4) Donators have the ability to purchase (for real money!) additional AP.
5) And by far the most important - donations help pay for the running, maintenance and development of the game!

The INDIRECT benefits of donating to the game - assuming that donators are adept at creating and managing their characters - are that you should be able to advance more quickly through the ranks. (More AP = More Fights = Higher Fame = More Money = More Moves = Quicker Advancement)

Non-donators shouldn't moan about this fact - it is our donations that are enabling non-donators to play for free!!!

Legend Bonus

The only DIRECT advantages that Legends of Vow gain are the +1 on damage when starting again in LAW, any AP they had before retirement and that they take forward 10% of the Fame they had before joining the Legends list and retiring. None of the Cash they had is carried forward.

The INDIRECT advantages - none really, apart from the experience gained from getting a wrestler to retirement should make them better equipped to build their character up again.

Neither Donators nor Legends get any advantages as far as Move prices, Cost of Specials or such like that I have seen posted/asked on Chat.

(If I've made any glaring errors in my summation, I'm sure they'll be quickly corrected by those who know the game better than me)

The only thing I would like to add, is the +1 bonus is really a possable +1 bonus to your moves. Legends dont get a +1 to every move. And although i know you know this John there are others who dont, so really a 1 time Legend is nothing to worry about, their biggest advantage is thier knowledge of the game as you have stated.

only one thing. you still have to be able to build a good wrestler.
otherwise the only thing that will happen is you will build a bad wrestler faster~jim

"5) And by far the most important - donations help pay for the running, maintenance and development of the game!"

Development? What's that? o.O

PS.

I heard a rumour that if you retire and become back the same style, you'll get ULTRAMEGASUPERHYPERMASSIVE leg-end bonus of +0.5?

Yeah, if you actually were planning to do that when you joined VOW.

And the old BONUS... damn it was fun getting beaten by Bubba with his LEGEND BONUS.

Jim, I think you missed my point there. I ment that his bonus wasn't bad. It was fun getting mauled and then managing to get a fluke win and things of that nature ^_^ I didn't mean it as a negative thingy.

How can you possibly have a 0.5 bonus? Is it like this Wrestler1 makes a Diving Headbutt for 12.5 damage! Holy Crap I bet they heard that all the way in China!

0.5? htat would just round to 1 each time right? :S

+ point for the obvious that wasn't stated - The +1 bonus increases the maximum the move can hit, not the damage it will hit every time. Needed to be said for the people who don't pay attention :)
