Thiller and I (Benoit) came to the conclusion that using full staff in tournaments is retarded. All it does is void out staff altogether, and everyone loses money! We're on a campaign to stop tournament staffing. Who's with us? Of course there's no complaint about staffing in tournaments, but everyone does it... and it's stupid. It doesn't help anyone to do it. It just costs us money. I will continue using full staff in tournaments until I see that it is no longer a trend. :) |

Thiller here, Beniot is right, we all lose when nearly everyone in a tourney uses full staff. There is no money and larger injuries. I say that we need to start with an alliance of DOCS ONLY TOURNEYS. You still have a great chance of winning, but the prize money will pay for your tourney |

I just mailed all the tech tourney members in SSWO. I will be using no staff for this tourney, placing my faith in them. |

Of course it is idiotic to use full staff in LAW tournaments - the payout for winning the tourney is less than the money you lose this way and you have only small chances of winning.
But do you honestly think that a SSWO, who gets 5000$ for a tourney win, wouldnt use staff? Your strange little pact may work out until the semis, or maybe even the finals (doubt it), but then at least one (more likely all) of them will break it - because, hey! whats the 500$ they lose due to staff compared to the 5000$ they will get thanks to staff? |

I've only ever had one success without tourney staff. I think scorp remembers it :) But the amount of times that someone says they will go docs only in a tourney and staffs is stupid. If you want to fight docs only tourneys, then just fight normal matches, what's the difference? |

All of us know that Staff is a part of the game, however it is frustrating. I have been doing great in a tourney, then in the semi final match, I lose with HUGE stat damage, and that just sucks, we arent saying you have to use docs only in a tourney, we just thought it was an idea. I agree with Thriller and Benoit. Tournaments should be docs only.
People who go full staff simple are saying they do not think their character is good enough and they need a boost/cheat/help. Just like people who take a performance boosting substance or illegal techniques to get ahead. Like the guys who use brass knuckles to win a match. Using something extra to cover your inadequacies. Yeah staff is legal but they make sure you earn nothing from it. Will you win? Nope. Depends on your initial character. From the sounds of it and the messages I see, most of you are letting fear rule. And of fear, ignorance, and pride you will continue to do this. Fine. |

Tourney runs, everyone uses Docs Only, it gets to final. Someone wants to win, they use full staff. Sure, their opponent will be annoyed but this is $5000, do they care?

Although benoit and thiller are right, that theory was thought of like last year so it isnt anything new. Of course it wont work unless you actually Restrict full staff in tourneys, i mean you want to ensure that you win the tourney so aslong as there is the option people will continue to use it. Whoever invented full staff is probably complaining about it. The person Cough cough IC cough cough...that suggested staff to Peter must have not thought it out throughly... |
