Thread: So called "Vets" of VOW

I remember a more volatile time in the game...when the then "mod crew" was out of control, noob bashing was as special as holding a title (lol), and when I literally would recieve between 5 and 10 efed pms a DAY.

I also remember the veterans (vets) of the game would constantly sell the idea that a player earned his mark in the game by playing the best of the best...usually chars that equalled 1k xp or more than you. BUT....I have noticed these same "vets" of the game are now on their way back up the leagues and constantly turn down MY challenges now that the shoe is on the other foot (same league/no bashing lol).

My point is...there's no honor or respect among the majority of the "vets" of VOW anymore. YOU guys remember that, when your in SSWO/VWO and needing matches badly, and good ole Brody or Vamp are the only consistant ones online with ap.

Btw, WHO in their right mind would turn down a challenge from the jobber Brody? rofl

Hiya Brody!

I can give you a reason for the change in the eagerness to throw down. Simply put, the game has changed.

With the new game features such as aging and the stat cap, money has become critical to retirement. The new system forces us to play more conservatively than before. Under the old system, even the biggest jobber in the world would be able to eventually collect enough cash to buy all the moves and reach retirement. This is no longer the case. Players are now more inclined to enter matches in which they have a better chance at winning.

It sucks, BB, but that's the way things are now. Thanks for jobbing with Bruiser Brody on my way through SSWO this second time, btw. :P

Oh yeah... shouldn't this be in the General VOW Forum? Heh.

Either/Or, but the point is still right, money is now king, regardless of how you make it. Look at Stu, people were always fighting him instead of fighting more equal matches. Also, there is the constant flow of wrestlers coming through who are "singles only" wrestlers, and will never touch a cage or LMS from someone within 50 exp of them - to be honest, Trad LK would have loved LMS matches, despite being labelled as a "singles wrestler style".

Philo, god of what, useless posts? BB i know what your saying and i know your right, Its sad really!
The changes are not really that big of a deal they are over rated and people are more scared than they need to be:)

This is supposed to be an open ended game .. i dont consider retiring as my goal ( the game, i believe nowhere says the 'winner' is someone who retires successfully .. i bet danny used to enjoy the game as much as anyone else even being known as an eternal detacher .. though i aint qualified to speak for him ).. so meh to the "favourable matches that i stand to make money out of" idea.
Jim ... as long as i dont get too bored being beat down ALL the time .. you can keep sending matches to "The Unknown". Heck .. jobbing is fun :P

It is all about money now. I'll gladly fight most people if the fame is right. I feel 400 is the magic number which makes it justifiable to challenge below you- enough to at least cover their R&R! Of course, friends I may let off with this.

I only ever turned down matches in SSWO above 2000Exp difference. After a point I accepted matches from anyone. I fought a fued battle with Brian Allan after all, who was twice my experience when I msyelf was 6000Exp. :P

My name is not on that list of unhonourable suspects. If it is someones shins are up for a good kicking :)

I fight people of all exp levels, prefer fights close to my exp, but have fought alot over my exp, especially in PWO, hey, they are the only one who wants to fight a god like me, (joking).
The way i see it there are about 20% of all people who play vow who are real gamers, the rest are noob bashing imitators. If they dont have a clear advantage they wont fight you. What happened to fair matchs, Half the fun is not knowing the out come.
